Welcome to Substance
New year, new newsletter.
For those of you who know me well, here’s one thing about me: I’m a nerd.
Having worked in social media for almost 8 years now, marketing and growth metrics are my bread and butter… but it’s one thing to execute for global brands and meme pages as opposed to a personal NFT brand (which is somehow still undoxxed).
Anyways, ever since I came back from my trip to NYC to see the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, I tried to get into a content creation rhythm, writing daily threads, and what I learned was…

…even though I was killing it with shareable, informative, impressionable content with over 10k impressions on a thread daily, it wasn’t converting into follower growth. On the other hand, hopping onto Twitter Spaces and talking for hours about the NFT Trader hack and loophole, constantly repeating points on wallet security and answering other dumb audience questions like an on-demand help desk got me 200 followers overnight.
Long story short: Twitter isn’t meant for longform content.
So in 2024, I’m going to put my longform content somewhere that suits it — SUBSTANCE by subvert, a daily (on weekdays) newsletter that will contain my insights, learnings and gleanings from around the space. It’s going to be a fun year.
That means all the content will be easy to find (via my Substack page), and my Twitter account can go back to becoming a free-flowing mess of memes, shitposts and concise summaries of learnings rather than a full-on essay.
Obviously, I’ll be monitoring the performance across all platforms and seeing how it does, and tweaking stuff along the way. But for now, welcome aboard and look forward to riding the turbulent waves of crypto with you this year.
Oh and if you haven’t done so yet, be a darling and hit that ‘Subscribe’ button below, will ya?
